Capacity, Connections, and What's Coming Next
May was a full one. Family visiting, clients in town, a conference, and several events — all moving me, my work, and my clients forward in the right direction. I may have gone quiet in your inbox, but I was definitely active IRL.
When I set out to get this newsletter off the ground, I was worried about being inconsistent…then May went by with nothing from me. But I'm not going to let that silence stop me from showing up now. In fact, I dumped all my thoughts into a voice note so I could crank this bad boy out for ya.
On Capacity
It's so easy to feel overbooked, stretched, and running on fumes — especially as a founder and leader in a growing business. But one thing is for sure: we have to stretch in order to grow. The problem is we can't live in a continuous stress zone indefinitely.
Stretch. Release. Recover. Rebuild. Repeat.
What I did well in May was actually find that rhythm. Earlier this year, I was dealing with injuries that quietly limited everything — my capacity, my presence, my ability to show up beyond what was immediately in front of me. Now that I'm feeling stronger, I've been pushing myself to get back into rooms, make connections, and show up in more places.
It's not always intuitive to step away from the desk and go do that. But what I keep finding is that when I move through situations without a rigid agenda, just being clear on who I am and how I'm showing up, I get more out of every room than I expected. And I'm able to create real value, not just for myself, but for the people I work with.
Here’s what I have for YOU.
Your June Reflection
I encourage you to look back at May and ask yourself:
Where did you spend your time, and did it create impact or distraction?
Where can you stretch into something new?
Where can you create more space — to recover, to restore, to show up as a whole person?
We've all heard "fill your own cup first." I've been living that through a particularly difficult season. And what made it possible was being clear on my why and who I am. When you know those things, you can take risks, try new things, and nothing is ever a waste of time as long as you let it teach you something.
Something New: GRNDWRK Business Assessment
One of the things I built in May is a free business assessment tool, and I'd love for you to try it. It walks you through the four pillars of business development that I take my one-on-one clients through — and from there, it delivers a five-day email plan designed to shake up your thinking and give you fresh ideas for driving your business forward.
It's new. It's not perfect. And your feedback would mean everything.
